Cam Butler is the composer and guitarist with internationally acclaimed instrumental trio, Silver Ray. He released his first solo album, Crazy Dreams, in September 2003. Having cut a swathe through Europe with Silver Ray at the end of 2004 supporting Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Cam returns to Melbourne to release his second solo opus, Go Slow. Backed by the beauty and power of a twenty piece string orchestra, Go Slow is a masterpiece that has already secured a release in Europe. Combining the dark, sinewy rhythms of electric guitar and percussion with the thrill of a symphonic string section, Go Slow is a truly unique and powerful work. |

"Few people wield a black Les Paul with as much style and sensitivity as Cam Butler."
"As guitarist for Silver Ray, he helps conjure majesty and grace, scoring some wild and beautiful soundtrack of the mind. Crazy Dreams, his first solo album, is an extension of such musical pursuits though a little more subtle and spooky and, yes, sexy perhaps." "Augmenting the Les Paul with 12-string acoustic strums, strings, samples, sparse percussion and occasional brass, Butler invites us on gusty, nocturnal adventures with our eyes wide as saucers and our senses alert to possibility, maybe even danger..." Martin Jones, Inpress Magazine
Melbourne (Oct 12 '03) "Both grand and spacious, evoking images of melancholy and tenderness..." "An ode to the sensitive side of the human psyche - musters an elegiac quality with an under current of foreboding..." "Aurally sumptuous - marks the advent of a composer of deft skill and ideas in the Mick Harvey mould." Bronius Zumeris,
